Only the latest Zentyal Server Development Edition is maintained and therefore it is highly recommended that community users always have the latest version in production. This chapter provides the detailed steps on how to upgrade from Zentyal Server 6.0 to 6.1. Although upgrades to minor versions are usually easier than upgrades to major versions because the base distribution doesn’t change, it is important to remember that upgrading is always a complex process which can fail. How to configure Let’s Encrypt on Zentyal Server
Zentyal Server comes with a Certification Authority-module. This is useful to secure automatically the traffic with TLS/SSL between services managed by Zentyal (SOGo, Webadmin, OpenVPN, SFTP…). However, Zentyal is not an official Certificate Authority. Therefore, even Zentyal certificates will encrypt the traffic, the certificates created by Zentyal are self-signed and won’t be recognised by third party software (such as web browsers or mail clients). Hence the warning “Your connection is not private” or similar that you and your users might see. If you need to use trusted certificates, you can use certificates signed by a commercial Certificate Authority or Let’s Encrypt, that is a free, automated and open certificate authority (CA).
