Zentyal, developer of the Zentyal Linux small business server, announced today that it will start providing commercial, Zarafa-based groupware solutions to its customers. Zarafa Collaboration Platform (ZCP) offers an alternative to Microsoft Exchange Server and Outlook, giving users a familiar-looking email, calendar, contacts and tasks management environment for only 50% of the costs of the proprietary solution.
Since the release of Zentyal server 2.0 in September 2010, Zentyal integrates the free Community Edition of Zarafa that allows Outlook support for up to three users. The commercial Zarafa Standard Edition offered by Zentyal starting from today, removes the limitation in the number of supported Outlook users and provides advanced features such as Advanced multi-user calendar and Bricklevel backup. Combined with Zentyal Active Directory Synchronization, Zentyal server and Zarafa make a perfect solution to migrate from Windows Small Business Server and Exchange server.
“Ever since the Zarafa integration, Zentyal users have shown growing interest in commercial Zarafa services and therefore, it was a natural decision to become an Official Zarafa Reseller” said Javi Vázquez, Chief Operating Officer at Zentyal. “Zentyal is widely used server solution in small and medium businesses, educational institutions and public administrations and we feel that Zarafa groupware solution enriches our offering even more.”
It is important to note that by purchasing the Zarafa Standard Edition licenses directly from Zentyal, the users do not only gain access to Zarafa licensed services but in addition, the server is automatically configured and allows to manage Zarafa services and users directly from Zentyal.
