Zentyal supports the nomination of International FOSS Community for Prince of Asturias Award 2011. Join the effort!

Support the International FOSS Community for Prince of Asturias Award 2011Zentyal has joined the campaign that supports the nomination of the “International Free and Open Source Software Community” for Prince of Asturias Award 2011 and challenges the Zentyal community to support the campaign. Prince of Asturias Awards are prestigious international prizes given to individuals, entities and/or organizations who make notable achievements in the fields of science, culture and humanities. Earlier laureates include World Health Organization, Al Gore, Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, among others.

“The International FOSS Community is a nominee in the International Collaboration category, that awards the work that has contributed to mutual understanding, progress and brotherhood among nations in an exemplary and significant way” said Ignacio Correas, CEO of Zentyal and member of the CENATIC Advising Board that proposed this nomination. “The International FOSS Community, with a disruptive new model of technology development based on the disinterested contributions by individuals from all over the world, has definitely helped closing the technology gap and fostering innovation from the world as a whole. We cannot figure out a better candidate for the award.”

Anyone can support the nomination by filling a digital endorsement form at the campaign’s web page, downloading and sending an endorsement letter or downloading and adding a campaign seal or banner to their websites or blogs. In addition, your help in spreading the campaign’s message further or obtaining a maximum number of significant supporters of the sector would be greatly appreciated.
