Who should purchase the perpetual license?

Organizations and businesses that want to have a stable commercial version of their Linux server at a minimum cost.

Can I use my license on multiple servers?

No, you can use the license on a single server (physical or virtual).

Until when will my server receive updates?

Your server will receive software and security updates until the End-of-life (EOL) date of the version of the purchased product.

Does the perpetual license allow me to have my server always updated to the latest version?

No, the perpetual license is version-specific and does not include upgrades to newer versions. If you want to upgrade your server to a newer version, you must purchase a new license for that version. You can also consider switching to the yearly subscription (which includes upgrades to new versions).

What happens when my version reaches its end-of-life (EOL) date?

The server will continue working, but it will stop receiving software and security updates.

Does the license include support?

The perpetual license does not include support, but support tickets can be purchased on demand. Depending on your needs, you might want to consider switching to the yearly subscription (includes support).

Are there special prices for Education, Non-profit organizations or Public administration?

Can I switch my perpetual license to a yearly subscription?

Yes, you can switch the perpetual license to a yearly subscription at any time by purchasing the corresponding subscription.

Can I use the single support tickets to upgrade my server to a newer version?

No, these support tickets can not be used for version upgrades.

Do I need to have a Commercial Zentyal Server Edition to get support?

Yes, your server must have a valid perpetual license or yearly subscription in order to receive support. We do not provide support for Development Editions.

How many issues can I solve with a single support ticket?

It entitles you to open a single ticket to resolve a single issue on a valid commercial server.

Are there special prices for Education, Non-profit organizations or Public administration?

What is the maximum support response time?

The maximum support response time depends on the type of ticket you have purchased:

SLA 2 business days 4 business hours
Maximum response time on business days.

What happens if I don´t use my ticket before the expiry date?

You can use the support ticket during the following 12 months from the purchase date. In case you do not use the ticket during this period of time, it will be lost.
