eBox Technologies is proud to announce the general availability of eBox Platform 1.2, a major new release of the most efficient Linux server aimed at SMBs. Designed to offer easy and efficient computer network management, the production-ready eBox Platform 1.2 is available for download at: http://www.zentyal.org/downloads.
eBox Platform 1.2 includes two completely new modules: Intrusion Detection System (IDS) based on Snort to complete the eBox Unified Threat Management (UTM) functionality and Voice over IP (VoIP) based on Asterisk to complete the eBox Unified Communications Server. Among other new features, eBox Platform 1.2 also includes a new hardware monitoring module, a new and more usable installer and a large number of general improvements that increase the functionality of eBox Platform.

From now on, eBox Platform will be released every six months. The next stable release will be eBox Platform 1.4 which is expected for January 2010, including enhancements that will center on improvements in usability and service-related features.
