March 30, 2015, Zaragoza (Spain) – Zentyal Development Team announced Zentyal Server 4.1, a new release of the Zentyal Server with native Microsoft® Exchange protocol implementation and Microsoft® Active Directory interoperability. At the same time there are very interesting developments on the Protocols Plugfest Europe 2015, organized by Zentyal.
Zentyal Server 4.1 aims at offering a Linux based Server to businesses with Mail, Domain & Directory, Basic Networking, Firewall and Infrastructure, that can be set up in less than 30 minutes, is both easy-to-use and affordable and offers full native Microsoft® Outlook Compatibility.
This release is completely focused on improving the stability and set of features delivered by the OpenChange module, based on Ubuntu 14.04.2 LTS to provide the latest stable packages.
This edition comes in two different flavors: the open development version (formerly known as the community edition) for bleeding edge testing of the latest available features and a stable commercial version for production environments (fully tested and stable, Quality Assured software updates and with commercial support).

Upgrading
To migrate from Zentyal Server 4.0 to 4.1, you only need to upgrade your 4.0 installation to the last available packages once they are released and a button will appear on the dashboard.
Important note: In order to focus on the improvement native Microsoft® Exchange protocol implementation and Active Directory interoperability, several additional packages had to be removed. These are: antivirus, ha, jabber, l2tp, mailfilter, squid and trafficshaping. If you depend on the functionality of these additional packages, it is suggested to not migrate.

Protocols Plugfest Europe 2015
This event, organized by Zentyal, will bring together experts from leading technology companies and open source projects so that they can share visions, experiences and technical knowledge to help advance the industry in its quest for interoperability.
Protocols Plugfest Europe 2015 reinforces the collaboration on interoperability and protocols between open source and non-open source companies and projects. The agenda currently includes 29 confirmed speakers and over 30 sessions, providing technical and business insights from Microsoft, Red Hat, CENATIC, SerNet, Dell, Collabora, KDE, FSFE, RavenDB, Kolab Systems, LibreOffice, Igalia, BlueMind, Bitergia, Samba, OpenChange, Libelium, Griffin Brown Publishing, id law partners and Hibernating Rhinos.
