Zentyal today announced the release of a new minor version of the Commercial Zentyal Server Edition, Zentyal Server 6.2. This new commercial Zentyal Linux Server version is based on Ubuntu 18.04.4 LTS. It comes with the most recent versions of all the integrated software together with improvements and bugfixes that aim at improving the stability and security of the product. This version also introduces remote monitoring and management options for distributors managing a large number of Zentyal Server deployments.
Zentyal Linux Server is a popular alternative to Windows Server®. It is mostly used as a domain and directory server and file server in environments where the typical client software is Microsoft Windows®. In addition, you can manage a full range of complementary services from network infrastructure to mail server or gateway with Zentyal Server. You can deploy it as a standalone server or integrated in mixed environments (Windows and Zentyal Servers).
New features and improvements of this version include:
- New base distribution: Ubuntu 18.04.4 Long-Term Support (LTS)
- Improvements: Improved management of DNS records, CRLs (CA), hard disks (Virt) and network inferfaces (DHCP)
- Highlighted software updates: Webmail (SOGo 4.3.2) and Antivirus (ClamAV 0.102.2)
- Remote control panel: Remote access to Zentyal Server GUI of registered servers
- Remote control panel: Server monitoring and alerts on registered servers
