(Zaragoza, Spain) Zentyal, developer of the Linux SMB server of the same name, announced today a partnership agreement with Proyecto Universidad Empresa (PUE) to extend certified Zentyal training to all of Spain. PUE is a company specialized in the management of training programs promoted by the leading technology manufacturers and with presence in all the Autonomous Communities of the Spanish territory.
“PUE has more than a decade of experience in integrating certified training of technology manufacturers – such as Sun, Cisco, Microsoft or Linux Professional Institute – to the Spanish educational sector and we are glad to seal a long collaboration with this agreement” said Ignacio Correas, Zentyal CEO. “The certified Zentyal training responds to a genuine demand of the SMBs to find professionals who can manage network infrastructures in an easy and affordable way, based on Linux. This agreement allows training centers to expand their educational offering to easily respond to this demand.”
“Zentyal Academy is a training program designed to allow academic institutions to train and certify their students in the Linux small business server management through technology that is both innovative and easy to use and implement” said Orlando Dominguez, PUE CEO. “It is the academic solution that our training centers have claimed so many times in order to provide official training in Linux server management with a tool similar to Small Business Server.” Mr. Dominguez concluded “We’re convinced that the Zentyal Academy will have an excellent reception in the Spanish ICT training centers and it complements perfectly the Linux Professional Institute AAP training program, in which we have placed Spain as the country with the most accredited centers in the world.”
Under the agreement, PUE becomes Zentyal Regional Training Academy for Spain and it will be the entity in charge of managing and supporting public and private training centers to introduce certified Zentyal training in their training programs. Certified Zentyal training aims to enable system administrators with knowledge and tools necessary to manage SMB computer networks with Linux based technologies.
Zentyal aims at providing small and medium businesses with an affordable and easy-to-use enterprise-level computer network. By using Zentyal, SMBs are able to improve the reliability and security of their network infrastructure and to reduce their investments and operational costs.
Zentyal development was started in early 2004 and currently it is an open source alternative to Windows Small Business Server. The Zentyal Development Team and Authorized Zentyal Partners offer a series of subscription services such as Quality assured software updates, Alerts and reports, Centralized monitoring and administration of multiple Zentyal servers, Technical support and Certified training.
Proyecto Universidad Empresa (PUE) is a private institution founded in 1998. Its main objective is to bring official training and certification of the major ICT multinationals (Microsoft, Cisco, Oracle, LPI, Zentyal, …) to the Spanish educational sector.
The training programs offered by PUE are aimed for different existing training curricula (University, Vocational, High School, Occupational Training, …) and they are designed to ensure that students and professionals are granted access, with the best possible conditions, to the certifications established by the major software and hardware manufacturers to prove knowledge and domain in their technologies.
Currently, the PUE educational program is implemented, stable and solvent in all the Autonomous Communities of the Spanish territory, with over 2,000 active training centers that at the moment train and/or certify more than 50,000 students each year.
